Changesto R132 and New Entrance for ALSAA - Now Starting

Thework on the new entrance commenced this week and will take about 6 weeks beforeit is in use. When the upgrade of the R132 from Collinstown Cross to"Spike Island" is complete, in about 12 months, the R132 will be adivided carriageway with turns possible at the existing cross roads and nearKealy's Pub.

Duringthese works, the main entrance will be moving from its current location on themain R132 to the back of the building. The new entrance will take approx 6weeks to construct during which the current entrance will remain open.

Thereafter, all traffic to ALSAA will need to be southbound as there will beno right turn on the northbound carriageway so for a time (a number ofmonths), all northbound traffic will need to go via the main airport roundabout("Spike Island").

The end result when the upgrade has been completed will be a fullyfunctional traffic crossing outside ALSAA which will allow a right turn turnnorthbound, as well as new and safer pedestrian crossings. The new mainentrance will also be much safer for members driving to the club!

Please note that during the works, the bus stops along the R132 may moveslightly but these will be signposted as this occurs.

Plans from the DAA are shown below.
